Learn why, in addition to the integration of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency is essential and cost-effective.
Refresh your knowledge of the fundamentals of building physics and acquire the necessary expertise for planning new Passive House buildings and EnerPHit retrofits (retrofits using Passive House components), covering both the building envelope and building services.
Each learning module includes a short video presentation and supplementary material and can be completed independently at your own pace. You can also assess your own progress using a short quiz after each learning module.
This e-learning course provides a solid foundation on the topics of Passive House and EnerPHit and serves as an introduction to advanced courses leading to certification as a “Certified Passive House Planner/Consultant.” These courses are offered by the Passive House Institute itself or by course providers accredited by the Passive House Institute.

Basics: Heat and humidity (Heat and humidity basics, water vapour in the building)
Building Envelope:
Opaque elements (Continuous insulation layer, insulation materials)
Transparent elements (Passive House windows and installation)
Thermal bridging
Airtightness (Airtightness importance, implementation and testing basics)
Building services:
Ventilation (Why ventilate, ventilation concepts and MVHR anatomy)
Heating and DHW (Heat supply, storage and distribution, DHW)
Cooling
PHPP (Energy balancing with PHPP, renewables, PER and classes)
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive 26 credit points for the renewal of your certificate.
